What would you want in a dating magazine?

Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:00 pm -

I am making a dating magazine for both men and women.
What sorts of things would you find interesting to read?
Funny stories?
Fashion tips?
Chat up lines?
Things to do on a date?
Sex tips?
Etc?

I think it is really interesting to learn what the opposite sex thinks about a number of topics, which you find out by asking those you already know.

I also like it when these answers are numbered because they are easy to read through quickly as most people want the information but do not have time to read long, complicated answers. Some examples might be:

1. "9 Ways That Tell Her You Love Her." (Ask women, "What tells you a guy loves you?")
2. "7 Turn Offs Every Man Hates." (Ask guys, "What is a sure turn off for you?")
3. "3 Best Picks for First Dates." (Ask both sexes, "Where was the most memorable first date you ever had.)

Get yourself a whole list of questions like this and ask each person the all the same questions. Organize all their responses and you're off to a fantastic start. The questions you have in you post here, are all list worthy, as well.

You could fill a magazine with the responses you gather. Oh wait a minute, you ARE writing a magazine! Perfect!

Hope this helps.

have important world facts that most newspapers and magazines fail to mention. This might make others branch out more who are not open to dating opposites from themselves. For instance, i recently read that President Bush (who, i used to loathe) apparently during his presidency gave more money to help Africa than any other president or politician in U.S. History!. That certaintly made me think twice about refusing to go out with anyone who was not the same as i was (a devout liberal). Opposites often attract, it is a fact in science (think the – and + of batteries) and more men and women need to apply it.

Deffinitly in a dating magazine I would want witty, easy to read and most importantly, humorously true colum writers like Chuck Klosterman (who writes for Esquire) Even though those who purchase Esquire and Rolling Stone say at a airport or pharmacy is predoinately male, it is far more of a better magazine in general because the only thing women magazines like Cosmopolitan, Bazzar and Vogue is how to cut calories at every blinking moment of every minuete of every darn day or (and this is much more rampant in womens magazines) they will have ceaseless pages on how to resolve problems with your boyfriend, how to spice up your bedroom sittuation with him, etc. and then, and this is probably the most annoying, they (womens magazines) have countless pages on mindless gossip about celebritys and TV that has absolutely nothing to do with the current status of hapiness or horror that is going on the rest of the world. With women's magazines they have turned the descendants of strong women of the past such as the voting sufragets and proactive feminists of the 70's back into the helpless/ditzy woman role that kept women confined to the kitchen in the 40s and 50s.

I would refrain form discussing too much things males or females should do on a date. They just need to be themselves, however rude, polite or loud that might be until they find the right match for them i.e. someone who loves them for who they are :) Also, i would not stress the intimacy tips, for the reason that the majorty my age (30+) in this day and age the wise women are all either single the majority of the time, or, have never been married or, have been left by a husband in the recent past.
I have never been married nor have i ever had a boyfriend for longer that a Mentos lasts but thats besides the point. My point is that the last thing I or women like a select few off my close divorced girl friends or other singles like me (men or women) want to hear about is how fabulous someone elses relationship is. Please, we already get treated like we're broken most ofthe time, we do not need to feel it when we are trying to enjoy a good magazine.
