Online dating… true romance possible?
Written by admin on May 5, 2009 – 11:53 am -So, I've recently tried online dating…and it just doesn't seem like true romance is possible. Basically you're out there looking for someone because you don't want to be alone.
To me, love happens when you grow fond of someone…and start adoring them and the chemistry. Online dating seems to kill that natural procession.
Are you actually falling in love with the person or just trying to meet your need to have someone??..
Any thoughts on this??
I used to feel the same way you do about the situation. I met my current boyfriend online through a dating site. I didn't think it would work, but we've been talking for two months and started dating after a month. We mostly talk on the phone now because it's more convenient, but we still talk online and find whatever time we can to be together. We're both really busy so it's hard. Just make sure it's the guy he's posing as. You never know what kinda of people are out there. Good luck and hope this helps!

Romance in Dating: Does Romance Exist? Can true love still bloom in our cynical modern era?
Written by admin on May 5, 2009 – 11:53 am -Romance in Dating: Does Romance Exist? Can true love still bloom in our cynical modern era?
A few months ago I had a notion for a few days that maybe, just maybe romance had gone and vanished for good. Maybe I was having an off day, who knows. But it gave me the notion to think about the subject of romance and put pen to paper (well keyboard actually).
Is love and romance dead do you think? I don't think so at all. After pondering the question I came to the decision that romance must be alive and well and living in all of us, it may just be hiding. Well most of us anyway. It is a question that women may be accused of asking more than men. But I know a lot of men who would ask the same question. Listen to me when I say – romance is not dead; even if it can appear to be dead some days. The question is, why do we think its has gone?
Well cynicism doesn't help a romance. And, because in these modern times it's all around, a couple has to work to keep it out of their relationship.
The important thing is that no party is excessively negative or cynical. A wet blanket isn't sexy. And, no one wants to be made miserable. That's not romantic!
Check this link for more advice of why cynicism, sarcasm and negativity is destructive for a romance.

Dating and Romance in Japan, how is it different from other countries?
Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:01 pm -I know somewhat about Japanese culture and their social stigmas.
Anyway – How do men / women approach each other in Japan? How does one behave on a date? I know in American culture, women go for loud, somewhat offensive but witty and funny guys like moths to a flame. But I know that being rude is not smiled upon in Japan.
(or any culture for that matter, but U.S has exceptions)
What is considered a "Normal date"? What would be out of the ordinary?
Sex on the first date – is that a taboo?
Is there a "dating ritual" different from other cultures? (Quirky things etc)
Any answer would be great, add anything else if you have something to share – and no I'm not looking to get a date. I feel how people with different culture's dating rituals reflect on their inner selves, and reveals more about their culture than anything.
I'm not 100% sure but I think theres a lot more people who date friends of friends, coworkers, and other people they would otherwise know somehow. There are still those that meet at clubs but its the same kind of people that do that in America. Sex on the first date is probably less taboo than it is in the west but most people still probably won't want to do it and those who do it are the same kind of people who do it in the west (usually sleazy). If they are opposed to it, it isn't because of their religion so they are much less likely to cave in to temptation I think.
Anyone who thinks Japanese women are all 'innocent' is easily fooled by outward actions and lies. Men like it and that is what women are going for but that doesn't mean thats what they actually are.
There are alot of relationships that are more old-fashioned but like many other places, there are recently many more relationships based on at least partial equality.
Foreign guys often think they have a magical effect over Japanese women but this is usually due to their inability to tell attractive from not attractive outside of their own race (ex:fetish). There are however some girls who have an equally bad taste and strong interest for foreigners.
I hear a lot of foreign residents who are women in Japan who complain about not being able to find a guy. It's usually because they come on too strong and also due to many Japanese guys lacking of confidence (and sometimes lack of interest in what they aren't used to). Some come on too strong; most Japanese guys like that whole innocent little girl image, its whats popular on TV.
Oh and I'm not sure how much you can generalize this but it seems to me that its less normal to introduce your significant other to friends and family. Maybe a best friend is normal and obviously parents when it comes to marraige and stuff but don't expect to meet aquantinces or distant relatives unless your dating someone friendly for a long time.
Karaoke is very common for a date. Also fancy cafes and bars and clubs. I'm sure people do movies although I don't go to the movies so I wouldn't know.
And lots of Japanese probably have the same dating problems that people in the west have. People forget that Japan has more in common with the west than most of Asia does.

I am done with dating, romance what ever the hell you call it?
Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:01 pm -I am tired of having my heart ripped out and always thinking the next girl will be diffrent because it they never are they are always the same. I have nothing left to give so I quite f**k it whats the point. So my question is this any other women out there want to make me feel like shit a little bit more before the new year? You might as well jump in the mix and fun at my expense too.

What would you have rather done with your time? Didn't you enjoy it while it lasted? Have no regrets….move forward and don't dwell on the past…

where can you go to chat without it involving dating, love ,romance and etc.?
Written by admin on March 20, 2009 – 4:18 am -Isn't their a place where you can just plan old chat with someone interesting ?
What are your interests? They have chat rooms for many many things. Do you have a favorite TV show? Or a hobby? Author? Try searching for a chat room using a specific topic.
Also some of the Yahoo games have chat rooms as part of the game. I've done those before and the topics seem varied – nothing specific. Try JT's Blocks – the game is entertaining and chatting has always been clean when I was there. You also have the option of turning the chat off. When I did, the other chatters all seemed to know each other, but were very friendly and welcoming to newcomers. They have different rooms – you'll see if you try it – you made want to try a couple different ones.

Do you think that romance can make an otherwise sane or well-balanced person crazy?
Written by admin on March 20, 2009 – 4:18 am -If so, then what is up with that? Confused emotions, endorphins, epinephrin? As Jimi Hendrix once put it, "Is this love or confusion?"
Looking back over my past relationships, I have noticed that usu. when a friendship crosses that line, one or both peo. seem to lose their minds–at least for a while. One or both peo. either bec. really clingy or controlling, or start playing "cat and mouse." Could be just my experience, but if you can relate and shed some light I'd like to know what you think, ok?
And peo., I know it is so tempting, but please do not "advise" me or tell me what to do. I just don't find this helpful, exc. perhaps in a roundabout way.
I would just like you to try to share with me your own ideas based on your own experience, studies, or research in matters of the heart. I am on a dating/romance sabbatical/vacation, using the time to recharge my spirit, refocus my energies, do some reality checks, and explore new possibilities. Thank you so much.
in my opinion, some people are bad for each other. these people who are "bad" for each other should not get together, because, as you said, they will both go sort of "crazy" if they are in a relationship. in all my previous relationships, i felt angry, anxious, and out of control emotionally–but, in the relationship i'm in now, i feel calm, secure, loved, and loving. the right person will not make you "crazy." we have to stay away from people that are destructive to us, and search for the "one" who makes us calm and centered.
